Time Management on the Web

Time management is a skill all media users need- especially web users!

Web 1.0 and 2.0 users found themselves in awe in front of the computer screen.  For hours and hours, web users sat gawking at the screen and embracing the keyboards in their hands.  Web 3.0 users aren’t any different!  Not only are we pilfering time with email, but now there’s a whole new social media market waiting to toy with our time! But why?

Why do we find ourselves easily sucked into the computer for hours at a time?  You go to one website to check one thing.  If you’re not a disciplined web user, 40 minutes will pass by, you went through a dozen sites, and you may not have accomplished your original task.

Solutions from wasting time on the web

  1. Have a pen and tablet out.
  2. Write down the tasks you need to do on the computer beforehand.
  3. Label the priority of each task.
  4. Give yourself a time limit for each task.
  5. Pursue your web related work in the order of your priorities!
  6. Do your best to stay focused on your written tasks
  7. Be able to continuously see the list throughout your time on the internet.
  8. Reward yourself after completing your tasks with a leisure activity on the web.
  9. Break into the habit by having your tablet of prepared tasks ready when beginning a new internet session.
